In addition to incorporating the aesthetics of a Zen Garden, the owner of this garden (an artist and designer) wanted to create a garden that needs very little water but doesn't look it…a sort of low water lushness utilizing a rich combination of visual texture.
The owner gets a wonderful rush when the white Camellia's are in bloom. "I feel they have just stopped here briefly on their trip down from heaven." Finding just the right rock for the right location also gives a real rush.
Be sure to visit the garden "rooms" behind the house. This is a very deep lot with an apartment building hidden in the back.
