Grand View Boulevard Elementary is home to LAUSD's first and longest-running Spanish Immersion Program. Grand View merged with McBride school in 2013-2014, and now offers many programs integrated for children of all abilities. One of those programs is the school garden.

Capably tended by Kathyrn Kocarnik, whose salary is funded by a grant from the Garden School Foundation, the school garden has truly become a place of learning, where the new Common Core standards are woven into the lessons of the garden, and even making a recipe can be a teachable moment.

The Garden is also tended by dedicated parent volunteers, who help making weeding fun for the kids and keep the garden running smoothly year-round.
