This
is a do it yourself garden from design to planting to maintenance. The owners
have the aches and strains to prove it!.
Their
goal and inspiration was low maintenance. They started planting fruit trees in
2004. The cactus patch started in 2009. In 2010 they removed all the turf thereselves
and added decomposed granite and gravel.
The
owners hand-water their pesticide-free garden once or twice a week.
The
euphobia cactus and the fruit trees are among their favorite plants. They've
seen an uptick in hummingbirds and squirrels.
The
owners look forward to sharing their garden and answering any questions. Learn a little about the history of the house here. The house was remodeled to it's current look in 2006 by architect John Gerald. John has many Mar Vista homes to his credit.
