3799 McLaughlin Avenue - LADWP Distribution Station - Cluster 1M

This large garden is located on the NW corner of Venice Blvd. and McLaughlin Avenue. It was once mostly grass. The "building" is actually an attractive wall that encloses LADWP Distribution Station 59.

Working closely with the Mar Vista community and City Council Member Mike Bonin, DWP replaced a dreary relic of another garden era with an Ocean Friendly Garden that incorporates water capture and a variety of California native plants. It is a demonstration garden for the community to enjoy and learn from.

Council Member Mike Bonin and the MVCC Green Committee celebrated the transformation with a community planting event on April 6.

Please stop by to see the new garden, learn about its water-saving features, and thank DWP for beautifying our neighborhood in an environmentally conscious manner.

DWP's Mobile Solar Power System will be at the garden during the Showcase  with lots of information about sustainable programs and incentives to help you go green.
