Stop by Showcase Central to pick up a printed map and get help planning your tour. TreePeople will be there with information about rain barrel installation and maintenance, and how to help your trees survive the drought. You can also meet representatives from the Mar Vista Community Council, the Green Committee and the Mar Vista Chamber of Commerce.


Here’s a fun way to extend additional support to our green efforts: WalkIt! Just follow the colorful WalkIt! wayfaring signs (sponsored by local nonprofit Green Communications Initiative) in Clusters 1 and 2 for a magical mystery tour of Mar Vista’s historic past. We promise mayhem, scandal, inspiration, champion sports and pure, unadulterated entertainment! Pick up a pamphlet with more information at Showcase Central or the DWP DS59 garden.

LADWP and SaveTheDrop will be at Distribution Station 59 with lots of information about sustainability programs and incentives to help you go green. It's the go to garden for 

  • Information on the turf rebate program
  • Questions answered on grey water
  • Information about free California Friendly Landscape Planning classes
  • How to get Save the Drop lawn signs
DWP is bringing a Mobile Solar Power System and can answer your questions about home energy savings and programs. 

The Learning Garden has planned a full day of special guests and events. Take a garden tour with co-founder Julie Mann. Get answers to your gardening questions from experts. Green Committee member and "Gardening for Geeks" author Christy Wilhelmi can answer all your edible gardening questions at 12975 Westminster Avenue.
